Rateb Quffa, and his wife, Haneen, and their two kids— 7-year-old Adam and 3-year-old Amira—and Rateb’s parents are fighting to survive in Gaza. Rateb’s mother, Faryal, had back surgery right before the war and hasn’t healed due to lack of care. For nearly two years, they’ve gone without steady access to food, water, or medicine. Given the blockade, prices in Gaza are so expensive that they are unable to afford them. Now that the borders have reopened, Rateb and his family are rapidly raising money to evacuate to Egypt.

Rateb and I met through mutual friends that volunteer to help the crisis in Gaza. Last year his emergency aid fund was shut down, so I reopened it on this page.
