Urgent Aid For Orpheus' Heart Treatment

Please help our sweet boy Orpheus.

My sister and I really need your help.

Ever since he was a kitten, he was diagnosed with a heart murmur. We brought him to an emergency vet yesterday when he started breathing rapidly. He was diagnosed with Congestive heart failure, a long-term condition. They told us that our loving boy had a heart that's too big for this world. They found fluid in his lungs. This is a potentially fatal condition, but we were lucky to have caught it early. The vet told us that Orpheus will need medication and regular check-ups to monitor his condition. With this treatment, we can help improve his quality of life. The downside is that treatment is expensive.

Orpheus will need to take diuretics daily along with regular blood work and follow-up exams to monitor his progress. This is something he will need for the rest of his life. The vet bills are around $3,000 right now, and monthly medication is estimated to be $1,800 annually. This is too much for my sister and me to shoulder alone.

I am a recent college graduate with student loans to repay, and my sister is an undergraduate. We want to get him the best care possible and give him the life he deserves to live. Seeing him pant and struggle to regulate his breathing broke my heart. We have had Orpheus since the COVID lockdown, ever since he was a kitten. He loves curling up in our arms and nuzzling our faces until we have his fur in our mouths. He's a silly guy who will get his head stuck in a tissue box and pretend that nothing is wrong and will press his little head against the window screen if he sees you in the garden downstairs. He's so incredibly loving; I don't want to see him suffer.
