MY GRANDPA’S DYING & MY GRANDMA NEEDS HELP
Donation protected
For my loving & dying grandpa and my superhero grandma.
My grandma Sue, age 75, has been taking care of my grandpa Frank, age 67, for the last few years. They have been together for more than 45 years.
My grandma has 5 siblings who chooses to have zero contact with her.
But together they have 7 kids and 21 beautiful grandkids.
My grandma cooks FOR EVERYONE. Always. It crushes her soul when she can’t afford food.
My grandpa has been slowly passing, on hospice, and suddenly for the last 4+ months.
He has melanoma cancer (has fought it for over 12 years).
He lost his left eye due to cancer. Now he has tumors from his brain, both sides of his back, his kidneys, down to his legs.
My grandma is a foot shorter than my grandpa, so you can imagine her difficulty trying to get him up to use the restroom and etc.
I have lived in different states for the last 10 years and came back to Ohio to help take care of my aunt who passed away on Mother's Day, and now I've gratefully been able to travel 8 hours to help my grandma and grandpa every single weekend for the last 8 weeks with my family.
My other grandma Rilla bought 5 acres of this land and left it for my my grandpa and grandma after her passing.
My grandpa was able to build about 85% of the BONES. While my grandma made it a HOME.
And now her home can't be finished...
She's not able to afford/get running water throughout the entire cabin.
She has to burn her trash.
She has no oven.
Her ceiling is only halfway done (but it’s safe)
She can't afford a phone, so she relies on her tablet via Messenger to contact anyone.
She can only get less than a half gig of WiFi because of where she lives.
Sometimes she'll go without eating just to make sure my grandpa and the kids get fed first.
She lives on a giant hill with a creek that floods easily, and she cannot afford gravel for her driveway.
She can't see well enough to drive anymore and does not have a vehicle.
Her only mirror with enough zoom on it (for her to see herself) is taped up, on its last legs.
BUT CHECK OUT SOME OF HER ART in the photos!! She doesn’t think she’s talented but she has no idea!! Everything you see she’s hand painting or hand crafted.
She won't have much help from the VA after he passes.
(Which may be this weekend or next)
She barely gets S.S.
She's also dealing with awful arthritis, essential tremors, and stents in her widowmaker (heart).
Every weekend my parents have had to provide 120 water bottles, paper towels, toilet paper, food, medical devices, and sooo much more.
They go through ALL of that within a week. Everyone is EXHAUSTED and funds are low.
My goal here is to get enough funds to get my grandma not only the things she NEEDS but also what she DESERVES.
We will need help with funeral costs, as well.
She and my grandpa are THE MOST GIVING humans I've ever known, and they love harder than most. Their saying is "love you, later” because 'bye' means forever.
Please, anything you can do. And if you have any ideas to help, PLEASE let me know!!
Love, your very much worried granddaughter, Rilla.
