Support for Krista & Pete During a Medical Crisis

Hi, my name is Darcie, and I’m starting this GoFundMe for my dear friends, Krista and Pete.

Krista has been very sick for several months, experiencing a range of painful and debilitating symptoms. She has been in and out of the hospital battling serious gastrointestinal issues, and now, her condition has taken a frightening turn. Her liver is shutting down—she’s currently on the transplant list—and to make matters worse, her heart is now being affected.

Despite the efforts of the local medical team in Santa Rosa, the doctors are still searching for answers. Krista and Pete are now facing the possibility of transferring her care to UCSF, where specialists may be able to provide the advanced help she urgently needs. Unfortunately, their insurance is through Kaiser, and it’s becoming clear that Kaiser is not equipped to handle the complexity of her case. Seeking care outside their network will come with significant out-of-pocket costs.

That’s where we, their community, come in. This GoFundMe is not only to help ease the heavy financial burden they’re facing but also to raise awareness and rally support from friends, family, and anyone who can help.
