Urgent Aid for Kem's Medical and Financial Crisis

Donation protected

Many of you know Kem as a pivotal part of our community. She is known as a mom, herbalist, Ayurvedic practitioner, doula, and friend. Kem is known to step in and help our community when in need, and She now needs our help.

For the last year, Kem has faced health problems that have grown in severity with time. This has recently landed her in the hospital multiple times. Kem was diagnosed with endometriosis at the age of 21 and had all of these medical symptoms then. She underwent an endoscopic surgery that rid her of symptoms for roughly 20 years, and they have slowly returned through perimenopause.

In the past twelve months, Kem has had multiple week-long bouts of intense vomiting, nausea, and pain. We are talking up to twice a month. She has ended up in the hospital multiple times due to dehydration. Her symptoms and severity are worsening. We are all very worried.

Because of this, Kem has missed roughly half of her scheduled work in the past year, landing her in intense debt. This also has meant that her daughter Makai has been out of work to care for her mom as well. Leaving their family with zero income. Her loved ones agree she is in no state to work at this time and, in turn, needs to be spending the VERY LITTLE energy that she has focused on finding the proper medical care and getting to the bottom of this debilitating medical nightmare. At this time, she doesn’t have a choice but to continue working, which we know is delaying medical care and further taking away from any form of real rest or a chance of recovery. Kem has zero savings left, and if she doesn’t work, she won’t have a home or food on the table.

With immense strength and humbleness, she has now asked her inner community to expand outwards in the hope of help and support. At this time, the best way to help is financially. No donation is too big or too small.

Kem has her first appointment with her new medical care today, and while we think it will be a journey to find the right care for her, we are optimistic that our community support will help.

We understand that your initial reaction may be to reach out to her directly; we want to warn you that it is hard for her to keep up with communication, and you may not get a prompt response.

Anyone who knows Kem knows how strong she is. We also know as a society that through times of struggle and hardship we often come out with more knowledge and understanding. We are certain that this will be the case with Kem, and through her own medical journey, she will, in return, come back to her work as a healer with more insight to give others walking their own path to health.

Thank you for your consideration, and please keep Kem and the White family in your thoughts, prayers, and wishes. We look forward to the day that Kem is well again and can continue to share her many gifts with us.

update: Hi everyone!

Thank you so much for your support so far. This care has helped kem and her family tremendously. Please continue to share if you can. Here is a message from Kem:

Thank you. I now have an appointments with two specialists and I am starting to get my bearings back. Last month pushed me to visit the ER 3 times! I am feeling well cared for and so thankful and grateful for all of your support.
