Hi, I'm the grateful mom of my beautiful oldest daughter, Jennifer. Jen is the kindest, sweetest person anyone could ever know. She loves her family and friends and will do anything to help someone in need. She's a mother of 2 - McKenna, 20, and Ryker, 7 1/2 (but says he feels like he's 8 : )
Jen has been struggling with pancreatic issues since she was 20 years old, week after week in and out of the hospital for years. Very little was known about the pancreas back then, and after going to U of M and local hospitals and doctors, week after week, year after year, one of the local doctors said the only way to get her out of constant pain was a procedure where the nerves in the pancreas are killed (I don't remember the correct name for this procedure).
With that as the last resort, that procedure was done and truly she had no more pain... for a while.
Recently, she was diagnosed with liver failure. Massive weight loss, swelling in her feet and legs, unable to eat, or keep anything down. In constant pain, can't sleep, can barely do anything except get her son to and from school. She looks like a skeleton with skin over it and a 20-pound watermelon in the abdomen area. Frankly, I'm scared to death of losing her.
We've gone to emergency rooms, doctor after doctor, and none of them seem to feel the urgency I feel for my daughter's health. She's in constant pain and none of them will help her - take these diuretics to get rid of the fluid, take Tylenol for the pain. It's even difficult for her PCP to order a standing request to have her drained on a weekly basis. It's infuriating to say the least, but as much as that, it's incredibly hard to see my vibrant daughter brought to her knees without anyone besides her family caring about it.
Not good enough. She cannot work, so no income.
She needs our help and appreciate any sharing or amount you can give. God Bless.
