Hello, my name is Jaskier Larsen (Legal name Tiffany), all through 2025 my family and I have had nothing but bad luck. we're poor, very poor. there is 8 of us in total, Me and My husband and our two kids (ages 6 and 11), my roomate and my 18 year old neice and her boyfriend and last my disabled and senior mother. three months ago we were told we had to leave our house because the Landlady was selling the land, we have to leave by the 31st of July. just a week prior to hearing about this, my father had a heart attack and died in front of me while I was performing CPR. He left us nothing but bills to pay and starined out already thin funds. I rescued my Roomate from a bad situation where he lived in New Mexico and since then he has been desperatly trying to find a job with no luck. my neice came up from Arizona and we welcomed her in since she had just turned 18 and was desperate to get away from her mother, due to a medical condition involving a hole in her heart she had to pause searching for a job nor can she get hired without an okay from her doctors. her boyfriend and my husbands are the only ones with jobs, I am a homemaker and take care of the household, the kids and my mother. My mother gets SS every month and together we made enough to qualify for a new place to live that was almost a 1000$ less then anything else we could find that we just bearly did not qualify for.

Got the applications approved, read carefully and signed the contract and we were told we could begin moving in immediatly if we pay the first and last month rent plus the security. no problem. we got all our bills here paid for and secure, had enough money left for a truck to move. then suddenly, I get a message from the lawyer the Landlord works with stating the Landlord needed us to pay the second months rent in advance to cover an unexpected bill from the security company that owns the door lock or whatever and this is mandatory for us to move in. Landlord promiced to give us a month free rent so we wont pay rent until october. fine, we scraped together money and I had to borrow from my credit card to make sure we wouldnt starve until the next pay check. Stupid? probably but what choice did we have? This is literally the only place we can afford and everything is already signed and in motion.

So everything seemed fine after that. (yes I am keeping all the paperwork just in case). Landlord thought it was all good to go, we thought it was all good to go and he said to expect an Email from his Lawyer to just confirm everything. Well she sends me an invoice. The lawyer said that the water and electric were paid up through august already which confused me because I had already paid the deposit to have the power in my name and we had been waiting for the account to change to us for the water. As of today 7/22/2025 our power and water at our (still somehow) current residence is shedualed to be shut off. the invoce also stated there was a HOA move in fee that was never on the listings, never in the contract and the contract explicitly stated that we were not going to be charged any fees besides the stated rent. period.

I am starting to feel very uneasy and ask if people can please please help us. Anything you can give just to help us get a hotel or pay a legal fee if we have to take drastic steps we cannot afford. there is no way past 7/31/2025 that we can stay in our current place. I hate to beg but we really need the help life has just given us one kick after the other and any hope I gain is just crushed. This is my last resort.
