Urgent: Help support my disabled niece and her family facing ongoing threats and a medical crisis.

My name is Irma Rodriguez, and I’m reaching out for help for my niece, a disabled adult who is going through an incredibly difficult and frightening situation.

For privacy and safety reasons, we are not sharing her name, but please know this is very real and ongoing.

Over the past two years, my niece and her household have been subjected to ongoing harassment and stalking by an individual in their neighborhood. This situation escalated into a serious and dangerous incident involving aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, along with repeated threats that continue despite being reported.

Because of her disability, my niece is especially vulnerable, and this situation has taken a significant toll on her health.

She has experienced serious epileptic episodes triggered by stress and fear, requiring emergency care. The ongoing intimidation has made it difficult for her to feel safe in her own home—something no one should have to endure.

The family has been proactive—reporting incidents, providing evidence, and working with law enforcement—but the situation is still unfolding.

They are now facing urgent and growing expenses for:

    •    Medical care: Emergency visits, ongoing treatment, and support related to the impact this has had on her health

    •    Legal assistance: To help ensure her safety, enforce protections, and navigate the legal process tied to the assault and continued threats. As of now, they are faced with a financial burden for legal expenses ranging between $5k-$20k

These costs are becoming overwhelming, and we are asking for help to ensure my niece can:

    •    Remain safe and protected

    •    Continue receiving the medical care she needs

    •    Have proper legal advocacy during this process
