The Galstyan family lives in the rural village of Svarants in the southeastern province of Armenia. They are urgently in need of support for their 16 year old son, Harut, who has been living with multiple sclerosis (MS). His condition has progressed to the point where he is unable to walk or move independently, requiring full time care.

Harut’s father, Aram, has undergone several surgeries and is no longer able to work. Despite his health limitations, he assists his wife Ani, with caring for their small garden and chickens. The family survives by selling their homegrown produce and eggs, but they have no stable or reliable income. In addition to raising Harut and their daughter Sirousho, the couple also cares for Aram’s elderly mother, placing further strain on the household.

One of their greatest challenges the family faces is the lack of an accessible bathroom. Their only facility is a simple outdoor outhouse, which is extremely difficult to use given Harut’s condition, particularly during the harsh winter months.
