Urgent Aid for Hammam's Health Crisis
Donation protected
Hello,
My name is Sarah. I am a Speech Pathologist from Arkansas and I’m organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my little friend, Hammam Khdair, and his family. I have been in communication with his father, Abdulhamid Khdair, since the time I heard their story in news coverage. Their story touched my heart and I knew I needed to do something.
Please take a moment to hear Hammam’s story:
Hammam is a 10-year-old child from Gaza. He was born with Cystic Fibrosis (CF), a progressive, genetic disease that affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. Before the war, Hammam’s condition was being managed with the help of a team of doctors. With a treatment plan in place, his family felt like they finally had a handle on the disease.
Now everything has changed.
The war has displaced Hammam and his family. Their home in Gaza City was destroyed and they are currently living in a bombed school in the northern Gaza Strip. They also lost most of Hammam’s essential medical supplies and have no medical care as the hospital system has been decimated. Now, despite multiple bombings on the school and continued threats, they are forced to stay in this displacement center because it provides them with one crucial thing: electricity from a solar panel. For one or two hours a day, Hammam is able to use his medical devices, including his nebulizer and his vest that clears his lungs and helps him breathe.

Malnutrition is a serious concern for Hammam now. As a CF warrior, he is at increased risk for health complications. Children with CF require additional calories to compensate for increased respiratory effort and chronic inflammation.

The medications and nutritional supplements Hammam needs are no longer available in Gaza, and health organizations cannot help because no food, medicine, or aid is allowed to cross the border and stocks have run out. Food prices have risen 530% since the war began. Hammam’s father is his biggest advocate and has worked tirelessly to provide for his family in unimaginable conditions. With the ongoing blockade, their situation has become desperate.
The fundraising goal will provide the following lifesaving relief:
- Passports and tickets to travel to a hospital abroad
- Medical treatment for his complex condition, including exams, diagnostic tests, medical devices, and medications.
- Essential travel costs, including accommodations, food, and nutritional supplements.
Hammam, just like every child, deserves safety and medical care. He hopes for a day when he can be free of the threat of violence and dream about his future. Please join me in hoping for this future and helping to create it. Your support will help them survive and rebuild their lives. Every small contribution makes a difference.

Thank you for taking the time to read Hammam's story. I will personally ensure that all money received is transferred to Hammam’s family. Updates will be provided as I receive them.
Thank you for kindness and generosity,
Sarah
