On August 5th, 2025, my GiGi was bitten in the face by a Mojave rattlesnake.
It was pretty terrifying for both me and her.
I saw it happen, thankfully, or I might not have known it happened until it was too late. I rushed her to the nearest VCA in Tucson, Arizona, where they quickly did a blood panel and checked her blood work to find out there was indeed venom in her blood. They were very fast at administering the first vial of anti-venom; then it was a waiting game and another blood check and one more vial of anti-venom. Luckily, after 2 vials, her blood tested completely normal and free from venom.
I was able to bring her home the next day, and she's under my care to watch and make sure there's no reinvenomation.
Many of you that know me know I'm not good at asking for help, but in this situation, the vet bill was pretty large, and I had just had a recent large bill with Reba.
If you can find it in your heart to help me out, I would greatly appreciate it. I hate that I have to ask for help, but I guess sometimes we need to lean on our friends. I'll keep you updated on how she is doing. I've also attached a copy of the vet bill so you can see exactly what was done and what the cost was.
Thank you
