This is Luree Contreras. I am humbly asking anyone with compassionate hearts to help this beautiful family who has come into a very difficult circumstance.
ThursdayUpdate: Genevieve Gillogley, wife and mother of a wonderful family, is presently in St. Peter's Hospital in Lacey, WA, to save her life after what was first believed to be a heart attack. After studies, she was found to have
heart failure that had left her with 30% function of a normal heart. We continue to ask for your prayers for the long road this family has before them.
We want to thank you all for reaching into your hearts and pocket books to help them in this time of need. The generosity is overwhelming.
I have known the Gillogley family all of their lives, and if anyone is worthy of help, it is them. Daniel, her husband, is a very hard-working contractor who has been struggling just to keep food on their table, and now they are faced with another financial burden.
Another concern is that the house they have been living in has become unavailable, and they were supposed to move out by the end of the month, with no place to go. Now with Genevieve is the hospital and Daniel taking care of the children and supporting his wife at her bedside, has made a tough situation worse. They have a camp trailer and are looking for a place to park it but this is on top of the present situation.
This is a very worthy cause, and if you feel led to help them out, we would very much appreciate it. Again we thank those who have already given. This family have been faithful servants of God, and it is time to pay them back for their service. We thank you in advance.
UPDATE: JULY 27TH FROM DANIEL GILLOGLEY
Here is another update for all our friends and family, and any curious on lookers.
Genevieve's mom came to stay with us for 2 weeks. She arrived the day after Genevieve was discharge from the hospital, and left only yesterday. What a huge help it was to have her here! Just a sense of "everything is going to be okay, mom is here" prevailed.
We did get an appointment with a different cardiologist! Which is a huge answer to prayer. The diagnosis of "stressed induced cardiomyopathy" is considered a "diagnosis of exclusion" in other words no other factors are considered. I felt that this kind of diagnosis left room for unaddressed underlying issues. The new cardiologist whole heartedly (pun intended) agreed and was almost offended that such a flippant diagnosis was given. He specializes in heart failure and is definitely the right Dr. for the job.
We see this new doctor on the 12th, and we are very excited. We do not have coverage for this doctor, but the generosity of the saints have made it possible for us to seek out better and more qualified care. Thank you to everyone!
Below are some photos from our time with mom / grandma. The river was beautiful, and we had such a nice time!
My next post will be an update on our housing situation.
