Help Us Provide Warmth, Shelter, and Resources for Fresno’s Homeless This Winter and Beyond.

Hi❣️My name is Traci Robertson and I am homeless. I am one of the blessed individuals that made into a “Bridge Program” that is a step between the shelter system and having my own apartment. I have a roof over my head, a warm place inside, access to a bathroom, 3 meals a day, ann option for laundry services and a bed to lay my head on a night. There are still many that do not. Many who are outside battling cold temperatures right now. I am seeking help. Help Us Provide Warmth, Shelter, and Resources for Fresno’s Homeless This Winter and Beyond.

Our Mission:
As the winter months bring dangerously cold temperatures to Fresno, many of our community's most vulnerable residents are left exposed to the elements. Homeless individuals and families face the constant threat of hypothermia. The need for emergency shelter has never been more urgent, but many local shelters are at full capacity. Programs like the Poverello House, the Fresno Rescue Mission, and RH Community Builders are doing incredible work, but they simply don’t have the space to accommodate everyone in need. That’s where we come in.

We are seeking your help to establish a Warming Center near Manchester Mall on N. Blackstone Avenue in Fresno. This center will offer safe shelter, warmth, and access to essential resources for individuals who are being turned away from existing programs.

The center will operate from immediately through May 1, 2025, providing 50-80 people per night a warm and secure place to sleep, nutritious meals, and the support needed to connect to social services. We hope to close the gap in emergency shelter availability and provide a vital safety net for those who would otherwise be left outside during these cold, dangerous months.

Why Your Support Matters:
The Warming Center will do more than offer a bed for the night — it will be a lifeline for people who have nowhere else to turn. Our goal is to provide:
  • CLOTHING, SANDWICHES & FIRST AID
  • Shelter from the cold, protecting individuals from the dangers of freezing temperatures.
  • Access to food and a dedicated kitchen space to prepare hot, nutritious meals.
  • Critical resources like Medi-Cal, Social Services, and Shelter Programs to help individuals take the next step toward stability.
  • Case management support to assist individuals in applying for benefits and finding permanent housing solutions.
  • A safe place to stay for up to 45-60 days, giving individuals enough time to access services and apply for housing and financial assistance.

What Your Donations Will Fund:
  • Rent: Securing and maintaining the center’s space near Manchester Mall on N. Blackstone Avenue until May 1, 2025.
  • Upgrades to Heating & Bathrooms: Ensuring a warm, secure environment with reliable heating systems and clean, accessible bathroom facilities.
  • Food Preparation Area: Setting up a dedicated kitchen to prepare nutritious meals for those staying at the center.
  • Cots, Bedding, and Hygiene Kits: Providing comfortable cots, blankets, and personal hygiene kits to ensure dignity and comfort.
  • First Aid Kits: Stocking first aid supplies to address minor medical needs and injuries.
  • Warm Clothing: Providing essential winter clothing, such as coats, hats, gloves, and socks to help protect individuals from the cold.
  • Resource Access: Funding case management staff to help individuals apply for and connect to Medi-Cal, Social Services, and housing programs.
  • Operating Costs: Covering daily operational costs, including utilities, supplies, and transportation to other service providers.

Our Goal:
We are aiming to raise $50,000 to fund the operation of the Warming Center, ensuring that we can offer shelter, warmth, food, and resources to 50-80 individuals each night. Your donation will help provide a safe, supportive environment for those who are turned away from other programs due to capacity limits.

How You Can Help:
  • Donate: Every dollar you contribute will directly fund the shelter, food, and resources needed to help someone transition out of homelessness.
  • Share: If you can’t donate, sharing this campaign with your friends, family, and on social media can help spread the word and get us closer to our goal.
  • Volunteer: We also need volunteers to assist with meal prep, case management, and providing support to those staying at the center.

Together, We Can Make a Difference
By creating a Warming Center, we hope to close the gap in the availability of emergency shelter and services. Your donation will directly impact the lives of Fresno’s homeless population and provide them with the opportunity to connect with resources that can help them regain stability and independence. We are committed to making a difference, but we can’t do it without your support.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support.

Update:
We will be providing regular updates on the progress of the campaign and how your donations are being used. Your support truly matters, and together, we can make a significant impact on the lives of those who need it most.
