Urgent Aid for Displaced Mother & Teens
Donation protected
Hello!
5/8/25 Update: This sweet family is now needing to raise funds for the kind of compression hose for Mom's severe lymphedema, which insurance does not cover. There is also possible upcoming surgery.
There is still so much this family needs to replace, plus now the medical supplies for mom. They are glad to have an apartment now and not utterly homeless, but are still working to replace all their furniture, clothing, kitchen necessities, shoes, and personal items.
This is a mom raising her teens to be polite, respectful Christians through the many trials they have faced in life so far. They still have a way to go to get back on their feet and healthy! Thank you so much for any boost you can give this sweet family. And thank you so, so much if you have already given. They have greatly appreciated every gift.
Original Post: Susie Heald here. My husband and I have helped support this lovely family - Mom, 46, disabled, and 3 teens - since Thanksgiving. We've grown to know and love this sweet family. But they've been unfortunate victims of a landlord who has refused to repair their sewer, causing flooding, and black mold and stench throughout the house.
Mom has always faithfully paid her rent and had just paid up for the month of April, right before the city deemed the house uninhabitable and "placarded" it. This happened to many other victims of the same landlord in the last month. Emergency shelters were full, so they lived in a hotel for 1 1/2 weeks, thanks to donations from a couple individuals and a church, until finally getting an apartment on 4/12.
Since they are currently still the renters, they were permitted by the city to enter and retrieve a few necessary items and special memorabilia from their house. But the mold is covering everything, and looters and unauthorized people have stolen so many of their belongings! The son is a HS sports star and all of his special pairs of basketball shoes were stolen right out of their boxes! They are in desperate need of monetary help to replace ALL household items, personal care products, and especially clothing and shoes. They've had so many strikes against them, at every turn, and now this situation is causing deep emotional and even physical problems. Please give prayerful consideration to donating to this lovely family.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
