Hi, my name is Gnat Shira. I have started this fundraiser to try to support my mother and two younger brothers for at least three months. SNAP benefits have been cut in our state for the month of November, and we are unsure if they will renew their benefits in the future due to instability in the government, although they are in great need of these benefits. The goal has been set to $6,500 because that is the total cost of three months' rent and what SNAP gives to my mother each month. This is not including water, electricity, gas, and transportation costs.

My mother, Kelli Fowlkes, is physically disabled due to multiple severe health conditions. She is the full-time caretaker of my youngest brother, Saafi (8), who is on the autism spectrum with extremely high support needs. She is unable to work due to these conditions and her caretaker position but has been unable to receive disability services. My second brother, Ezekiel (17), is also on the autism spectrum with lower support needs. He works part-time while finishing his senior year of high school, but it is barely enough to cover even one bill.

I, myself, am 21 years old. I am physically disabled along with a laundry list of mental health conditions. I have not received disability services since I was a minor. So, I work full-time, but I only make just enough to cover my own needs.

It is an extremely difficult situation, for so many reasons, I could not put them all here.

The situation is VERY URGENT!!!!!! My mother is having a serious gallbladder procedure at the beginning of November and will be absolutely completely unable to go to a food pantry, let alone multiple to cover even a week's worth of food for herself and my brothers.

I am asking for general help so that my brothers do not go hungry and end up homeless. The most basic needs in the world, food and shelter.
