Urgent Aid for Dennis' Health Crisis

My name is Rosemarie Ulibarri, and I am the mother of Dennis Mares. Dennis has been sick for the last 2 years with his liver, and now his kidneys. In addition to these, he also has two hernias, inguinal and umbilical. For the last 2 years, he has gone for weekly paracentesis. He had gone to the University of Colorado for an evaluation to get a liver transplant, but based on the issues listed above, he did not qualify at this time for a transplant; instead, he was scheduled on June 11, 2025, for a Tips Procedure, which was done on June 11, 2025.

On June 24th, when he didn't show up for work and work could not get a hold of him, I went to his home and found him unconscious. When I couldn't get him to respond, I called 911. We were finally able to get him to the emergency room at Christus St. Vincent. His ammonia levels were sky-high. He didn't like the taste of Lactulose; instead, he was just taking over-the-counter laxatives. He was having his 2-3 bowel movements, not knowing that the Lactulose not only was a laxative but a binding agent that sucked out the ammonia from his blood. While in the hospital, he had a seizure, and when they were taking him in for a CT scan, he had another seizure. He is having trouble holding down the Lactulose and keeps throwing up. He was finally able to get out of bed today, and I am hoping he continues, so we can get him home. Meanwhile, it looks like he will not be able to go back to work until we can get the ammonia issue fixed. He was able to make his mortgage payment for this month, but that is all. He only has 63 hours of annual leave and 6 hours of sick time. I am hoping to raise money to help with these costs and medical costs for this hospital stay. I would also like to repair a part of his roof over his bedroom and fix the corner of his bedroom by tearing out the drywall that is showing signs of mold and repair. If anybody could donate time to help with this or if people would like to donate time to help get minor repairs done prior to his coming home.
