Hello, my name is Debbie Meeks. I am a widow, and my mother, 86, lives with me. My husband died from COVID three years ago. Four days after his funeral, I took my mother to the ER where she had a heart attack. After weeks in the hospital/rehab, she came to live with me. During that time, I discovered she has Alzheimer's. So, I became her caretaker. We both are on social security.

I recently noticed some things happening on my phone, getting notified of things going on in iCloud, etc. After talking to a friend, he told me to check out my devices in settings. When I did that, I discovered another phone from Nigeria was connected to my phone! I immediately changed my password. The next day, he was back on there again. I realized then he could see what I was doing and could get my password. After doing this several times, I waited until really early morning, quickly deleted him again, then changed my password. It seemed to work! About four days later, mom and I went to get our hair done. When I went to pay, the card did not work. I went straight to my bank where I discovered everything I had in my accounts had been removed. Included in that was money I had for taxes. My bank helped me file a claim to start an investigation...

He caused my account to be overdrawn by several thousands of dollars. So, when I received my first check, most of it was used to pay the overdrawn account. I was left with $7.32. Get paid once a month. Well, now it keeps snowballing and again when I receive my check, most of it will be gone again... So now I am behind on every bill by a couple of months. Worried about losing my home and my car, and the ability to take care of my mother. Because he was on my phone, he had access to my Notes folder where I kept my USERIDs and passwords.
