Dear Friends, Family, and Kindhearted Strangers,

We come to you today with heavy hearts and a plea for support. Our beloved Carter Howton is currently in critical condition in the emergency trauma room, and he needs our help more than ever.

On August 30, 2024, Carter was involved in a serious accident that has left him facing severe injuries. He was hanging out with his friends and fell out of a moving vehicle, hitting his head. He was rushed to the hospital where he is now fighting for his life. The medical team is working tirelessly to provide the care he desperately needs. As you can imagine, this is an incredibly challenging time for Carter and his loved ones.

Carter has always been a beacon of kindness, generosity, and strength. Whether it’s through his work, community involvement, or simply being a supportive friend, he has touched the lives of so many. Now, he is the one who needs our support.

The medical expenses for Carter’s treatment are piling up quickly, and the family is facing significant financial strain during this already overwhelming time. We are reaching out to you, our community, to ask for your help. UPDATE, September 3, 2024

We have been seeing little miracles daily. We are on day 4 since the injury. His ventilator was removed this morning, yea!!! He's breathing on his own. He was able to give the nurse a thumbs up and a peace sign. Both great signs, they are looking for more consistency, but we'll take it. He opens his eyes for short periods. He trys to swat the nurse's hands away when they pinch him for his nuero exams, all good signs. He was asked to reach for his twon sister and he did! Physical therapy came in and they stood him up and he took 2 side steps. So very grateful for all the little miracles, so very grateful for all the prayers and support. He has a ways to go, but we are thankful for all the progress he has made so far. Thank you for your continued prayers and support.

September 6

Was a rough day for Carter. He had a very restless night so they gave him medication to calm him down. Good thing, he was able to rest, but he slept through the night and entire day. The medication made him overly tired. He had to have a feeding tube placed again (as he pulled it out twice). This was very hard on him and he definitely does not like it. Today he was running a slight fever, so they are concerned he maybe fighting an infection. Before we left for the evening, he did give his nurse a thumbs up and peace sign when asked. All good. Your continued prayers are definitely being heard and we thank you all for keeping him in your thoughts and prayers.
