Urgent Aid for Carly's Surgery Expenses

Hello Everyone!

My name is Eric Gilman and I just want to start by saying im not very good at asking for help but Im pocketing my ego to see what the world out there can do to help my family.

Two years ago my wife Carly was suddenly struck with a catastrophic health care event. She was driving and intstantly was struck with excruciating pain. So much pain when we got to urgent care she couldn't walk. Urgent care immediately referred us to the nearest Hospital for a more extensive examination. Once we arrived at Providence Medical Hospital she was diagnosed with a life threatening condition Intestinal volvulus (Twisted Bowel). They had to immediately rush her into surgery to save her life. They performed a bowel resection where they removed a large portion of her large intestine and also removed her Gall bladder due to a large gall stone that had formed in there (over 30MM). Due to the severity of the surgery keyhole surgery was not an option so they needed to open her up from sternum to belly button. The surgery was a success and after a week in the hospital, she returned home and has recovered well.

We thought that all of the bills we received initially were all of the medical bills for this procedure and we paid what was not covered by the insurance.

Fast forward to this week, we received a final bill from Providence Medical center and the final bill for her visit ant the medical center for the week after our insurance paid out was $37,978.37

Needless to say this was a shock and I about had a heart attack. We don't have even close that amount in savings to cover the cost of this bill and I can only hope there are no others coming in the mail. This is where I am humbly turning to my friends, family and community and asking for help with this. I have applied for financial help but my income is above the threshold for that.

We are six people living on a fixed income and Carly has to stay home to be with our 4 kids.
