On October 19, 2025, my mother, Benita L. Moreno, aged 76, was rushed to the local Holy Life Hospital after suddenly experiencing a severe headache, continuous vomiting, and weakness. A CT scan revealed bleeding in her brain, and we were urgently advised to transfer her to a larger hospital for more advanced neurological testing.

We brought her to The Medical City in Pasig City where an MRI confirmed a ruptured brain aneurysm. We were given two options: open brain surgery or endovascular coiling, with the latter being strongly recommended due to her age.

Following the procedure, my mother faced multiple life-threatening complications. Her heart stopped, and she had to be resuscitated. She also suffered internal bleeding and breathing difficulty, which resulted in her intubation. All of these factors significantly increased her medical expenses. She remained in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for five days before finally being transferred to an isolation ward. While in the isolation ward, she was observed to be having further issues with breathing and was subsequently diagnosed with moderate pneumonia.

As of today, November 20, 2025, my mother is still confined in the hospital. She is now undergoing kidney dialysis after doctors found that her kidney function has become severely low, further extending her hospital stay and adding to the rapidly growing cost of her treatment and care.

My older sister and I are both based overseas, and this distance, combined with the time difference and the need for constant updates, has made the situation incredibly stressful for our family.

I have had to leave my job and my own family, and will not be spending Christmas with them this year, just so I could return to the Philippines to care for my mother.

My older sister, a full-time stay-at-home mother, will also be returning to the Philippines to provide support.

My mother’s hospital bill as of November 17, 2025, has already reached PHP 2.44 million, not including the doctors’ fees and ongoing dialysis treatments.

As a family, we were prepared to shoulder the financial burden on our own, but we've reached a point where we can no longer manage the mounting expenses alone. Therefore, we are humbly seeking any financial assistance to help ease the burden of her ongoing medical bills, treatments, and extended hospital stay.

Thank you so much for your kindness, prayers, and support during this incredibly difficult time.
