Urgent Aid Needed To Purchase Bariatric Wheelchair Cushion

Hello everyone. Once again, I am asking for your help and kindness in getting a bariatric wheelchair cushion for my wheelchair. I'm am going through PT to become more mobile again as I prepare to have my gastric surgery.

We have promptly returned to transfering from my bed into my wheelchair. However the heads of the rivets that hold the seat to the wheelchair frame are badly wounding the backs of my legs with each transfer I do.

Insurance will NOT cover a wheelchair cushion for a wheelchair that they did not originally pay for. And I cannot afford to have the backs of my legs getting ripped apart because it will not only cover the chair with my blood, but with my diabetes, I do not heal well.

Why hasn't the cushion been a priority in the past? Well, the chair is aging and I wasn't transfering into it on a daily basis. And if I doing keep up on doing daily transfers, I will not be allowed to have my gastric surgery.

And why is the cushion so expensive? It's a extra large, bariatric sized gel foam cushion made to fit my chair. It is $215usd+$15usd shipping. The other $45usd covers Go Fund Me fees.

Why is it such a rush, well I have made great strides in gaining back some of my mobility and I can't afford to let a wheelchair ripping up the backs of my legs start me going backward on this path. Unfortunately when you are obese and have diabetes, wound issues can snowball into much larger problems.
