URGENT HELP NEEDED

Our friends at Legacy of Love, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) rescue, need us now more than ever. Alyssa and Nick are the kind of people who always show up — for every dog, every animal, and every human in need. Today, it’s their own beloved dog Azreal whose life hangs in the balance.

Alyssa and Nick first met Azreal when he was just 5 weeks old — one of the last two puppies from a litter being given away on Facebook Marketplace. They rescued both, keeping Azreal, the big, dopey baby who stole their hearts.

Azreal’s journey hasn’t been easy. He once struggled with severe dog aggression, but through patience, training, and love, he transformed into a gentle, goofy, perfect companion. His only downfall? Eating things he shouldn’t. This time, it nearly cost him his life.

Azreal hid his symptoms until it was almost too late. Bloodwork revealed he was septic, and he was rushed into a grueling 4-hour emergency surgery. The vets removed a full foot of his intestines, found multiple perforations with leakage, and discovered possible damage to his pancreas.

Late last night, he had to be transferred to a 24-hour ER facility equipped to monitor him closely. His bill for just 48 hours of hospitalization is already $6,500. If complications arise, he may need another surgery costing $7,000–$12,000.

Alyssa and Nick have poured everything into rescuing shelter and street dogs, maxing out their own resources to save others. Now, they are facing a financial wall they cannot climb alone.

Azreal is a fighter — he’s already survived so much. But to keep fighting, he needs all of us.
