Hello Friends/Colleagues;

I made this account for our beloved friend and fellow therapist, Barbara Diaz OTR, who is currently experiencing an unimaginable situation with one of her daughters. They went as a family to Costa Rica, and during such visit, one of her twins was involved in an ATV accident. They had their returning flights scheduled for Saturday and only her husband and other daughter could return as you can imagine.

She is in stable condition; however endured a complex fracture to the Left Acetabulum and Pelvis as confirmed by 2 CT Scans. The accident occurred Friday at 7:20 AM, she was immediately transported to a local clinic for initial assessment, then transferred to Hospital de San Carlos in Quesada. Where an initial Xray was performed and a Foley catheter was placed, as she is unable to be out of bed due to extreme pain with mobility. The Doctors there determined to transfer Anna to El Hospital de Ninos en San Jose to be evaluated by a specialist and complete the Magnetic Resonance. They then repeated the Xray, she was medicated for pain and provided IV fluids as she is unable to intake nutrition orally due to pending possible surgery. Due to the complex fracture she was unable to be operated on during the weekend awaiting surgery possibly for Monday or Tuesday expecting the presence of the weekly personnel to proceed.

As she awaits the unknown and agonizing timeframe of a pending complicated orthopedic surgery for her daughter, she is unable to return to the United States and work. Barby would never want to burden us, but I know first hand how much all of us that know her will be moved by her current situation and so, I humbly ask for any help within your measures.

**UPDATE**

During this time the Doctor is recommending Anna to have the surgery in Costa Rica due to the severity of the injury and possibly be moved 3 days post op by medical transport to return home to Miami.
