I write this on behalf on George Sevastakis, a great friend and colleague of many years. He is spearheading the fundraising efforts for his sister’s life, and needs your help today. If George has ever taken care of you, made you a perfectly balanced cocktail, made your soul happy or has shown you any type of hospitality or love, you are truly special to have encountered it; his family needs your help today and we pray that you find it in your hearts to help Agni fight another day.

Agni Sevastaki is a beautiful, vibrant and intelligent 33 year old woman. She had spent her life healthy and active, until the devastating news of cancer.

In October 2017 she was diagnosed with invasive, stage 3 breast cancer (HER2+.)
Agni has undergone chemotherapy, radiotherapy and a bi-lateral mastectomy all before the age of 31, to help combat this horrible disease. In September of 2019 Agni underwent cosmetic surgery to replace her breasts after her mastectomy, and this is when the doctors discovered a 2.2cm tumor in her brain, which resulted in a diagnosis of Metastatic Brain Cancer. While this tumor was present on scans 6 months prior, and only measuring at 0.2cm, her doctor’s failed to see what was visibly present on her scans. After the operation, she was also diagnosed with Leptomenigeal Disease, which is when cancer cells migrate from existing disease and causes nutrients and chemicals to spread throughout the brain and spinal cord.

Agni had exhausted all of her treatment options in Greece before relocating to Boston with her mother, Ourania, to be alongside her loving father, John, and brother George in order to seek treatment at Dana Farber Cancer Institute for her last treatment option. She has been receiving treatment since December 23, 2020 and has shown significant improvement and decrease of the disease. Agni was showing multiple signs of new tumors, which have all shrunk, and her tumor and edema improved. We are hopeful that with continued treatment, we will be able to heal her, and save her life.

Her family has had to absorb an astronomical amount of debt in order to continue to help her fight. Already $180K in debt since her first treatment on December 23, 2020, Agni’s most recent quote for treatment from Dana Farber Cancer Institute is estimated at $332,736.42.
This treatment includes 6 months of Tucatinib & Capecitabine, her self-administered chemotherapy medications, alongside 6 cycles of Trastuzumab which are administered every 3 weeks via outpatient infusion.
Any donation to this valiant fight is appreciated.
