This wonderful Afghan family Is at risk of being homeless with two young children! They arrived in the US four years ago. Both parents are permanent US residents. They have had little resettlment support but through their determination have found housing, jobs, and daycare for their two, adorable pre-schoolers. They have worked hard to take care of their family.
Now they are at risk of being homeless. They have to vacate an affordable apartment where they have lived for four years. Their income barely covers monthly expenses and while they are applying to multiple agencies for affordable housing they are likely to be forced into the commercial rental market.
The family has limited savings to cover first/last/security deposit, a major obstacle to finding a new home. This campaign is to provide them with the financial backup they need to help them relocate so they can continue to build a future for their family in the Boston area and to give them a small cushion to cover gaps when their monthly income falls short.
I have not posted photos of this wonderful family and their adorable children out of respect for the privacy.
