A Dream in the Making… A Sanctuary for the Cats Who Need It Most
We think most animal lovers share the same dream - one day opening a sanctuary where animals in need can finally be safe.
We are beginning the journey to make that dream a reality!
Every day, cats are left on the street to die or euthanized in shelters simply because they need too much care…
Because they’re too sick. Too old. Too feral. Too “complicated.”
But to us, those are the cats who deserve saving the most.
Our goal is to create a small sanctuary specifically for the cats who have nowhere else to go. The ones who are often overlooked or deemed “too complicated.” Cats with special needs or complex medical conditions. Feral cats who cannot safely return to their colonies but also aren’t adoptable. Senior and hospice cats who simply need a safe place to live out their golden years - or their final days - surrounded by care and compassion.
I’ve been involved in cat rescue since I was just 12 years old. What started as my mom and I fostering cats and kittens and helping wherever we could has grown into something so much bigger. Today, we independently rescue the cats who need us the most - the ones with the fewest options and the greatest challenges.
Many of the cats we care for live with special needs or medical conditions such as paralysis, incontinence, megaesophagus, diabetes, hypothyroidism, kidney disease, FIV, FeLV, megacolon, blindness, deafness, neurological disorders, amputations, mobility challenges and more.
We also help cats who are feral or have behavioral challenges that make them difficult to place in traditional homes — but they still deserve a safe place to belong.
For nearly three years, we have also been helping a large outdoor colony of cats. What began as helping a few cats turned into something much larger than anyone realized. Since then, over 200 cats have been rescued from this single colony - kittens born outside, injured cats, sick cats and abandoned cats trying to survive.
The adoptable ones are placed with rescue partners but there are still cats there who have nowhere else to go.
Many of them are older, medically fragile, or feral and unable to safely transition into typical indoor homes. On top of that, the area they have known as home is not safe for them to remain. Some neighbors have not been kind to the cats, the old dilapidated barn they come home is falling down and is supposed to be torn down soon and many of the cats just truly will not be able to survive outdoors in the condition they are in for long.
This sanctuary would give those cats - and others like them - a safe place to finally exist without danger.
Our dream is to build a sanctuary that will become a permanent safe haven and forever home for these cats. A place for those who might otherwise face euthanasia simply because their needs are too great. A place for those who may otherwise remain suffering outside simply because they have nowhere to go.
A place where they no longer have to fight to survive - but instead can finally rest, heal, and experience the love they have always deserved. ❤️
We are already helping multiple special needs kitties but with a dedicated building just for them, we could help so many more.
If you would like to be part of making this dream possible, please consider supporting our mission. Even a one-time donation of just $5 can help us move one step closer to creating this safe haven and saving countless lives.
Because every cat - no matter their needs - deserves a place to call home!
