Hello! I'm trying to raise funds for a cat shelter in Serbia very dear to my heart. Cat Shelter Felix is the first registered cat shelter and the only cat sanctuary in Serbia. Since 2011 the volunteers running the shelter have rescued countless cats from the streets, all of them unwanted, abandoned, sick, abused, and broken. They now provide lifetime care to 85 shelter residents, ensuring they have a safe and loving home till the end of their days.

The cold season is always challenging and at Cat Shelter Felix they are feeling the chill. While they've managed to keep the gas-powered central heating running to keep 85 resident cats safe and warm, the unusually bitter winter cold has stretched their resources to the breaking point. Between the cost of heating the facility and the constant need for high-calorie winter meals, emergency fund is officially empty.

With 85 mouths to feed, the volunteers go through a huge amount of cat food daily. All the cats eat more in winter as they need more energy to stay healthy. Additionally, the cold often brings sniffles and flare-ups of chronic conditions and the vet bills are mounting up, as the volunteers ensure all the seniors, youngsters and FIV positive cats stay in peak condition.

They've secured the gas for central heating, but with weeks of winter left, they are struggling to cover the basics - kibble, canned cat food, medicine, and vet care. The expenses are enormous and they're desperate for continued support.
