Our 12 member Model UN team is heading to New York City to attend the National High School Model United Nations (NHSMUN) conference at the United Nations Building. Student delegates will play the role of international delegates and attend a briefing with real delegates from the countries they will be representing.
We will be staying in New York for nine days and the activities include the conference and three days to explore the city. Our teens are working hard to fundraise together to make sure that all their teammates can take part in the trip. All money raised will help off set the cost for our families.
What is Model United Nations
Our MUN program introduces young people to the field of international affairs. Students step into the role of ambassadors as they simulate the actual United Nations in debate and negotiation, all in an effort to address a variety important issues facing the world today.
What we do in Model United Nations
Our students become immersed in timely global issues all while studying a blend of history, political science, and current events. They engage in rigorous academic preparation to understand the countries they will represent, the UN committees in which they will represent them, and the key issues to be debated and addressed. Successful students will learn to walk in another’s shoes to fully represent the positions of their adopted countries.
