UrbanBuilt's holiday fund raiser for HIP

Each year, HIP places 60-65 homeless individuals and families into permanent apartments and provides rental subsidies, intensive case management services and financial capability coaching for 6-9 months during their transition toward stability. Most of these clients leave the shelters with very little beyond some clothing and toiletries.

Last year, UrbanBuilt donated more than $1,200 during the holiday season to kick start HIP’s Welcome Home Move-in Kit program, which includes 40-50 basic household items, cleaning supplies and bedding to make clients comfortable in their new spaces.

Through our fundraising efforts, UrbanBuilt was also able to provide some furniture pieces, cooking utensils, and a few books and toys for Tammy, a young mother who lost her home due to domestic violence. Having a safe and comfortable place for her children during the Covid pandemic was a huge relief.

This year, UrbanBuilt’s goal is to raise at least $3,000 to provide Welcome Home Move-in Kits to at least 3-4 families who will be leaving homeless shelters during December. Please help us reach this goal and make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate.

All monies donated go directly to the Housing Initiative Partnership, Inc. in Hyattsville, Maryland.
