
Urbana Middle School Band 6 Flags Trip!

Hello, My name is Jaime Escatel and I am the band director for the Urbana Middle School concert band.
The concert band is a before school ensemble made up of 6th-8th grade students that meet 3 times outside the school week to rehearse and perform together. This year we are taking our students to the Music in Our Parks Music Festival at Six Flags St. Louis.
We are seeking financial support to alleviate any financial burdens on our students. Urbana Middle School is a title 1 school where 77% of our students are classified as low income.
Here at Urbana Middle School we pride ourselves in removing barriers for music education by providing students with all they need to be successful. We will be taking a charter bus to perform and compete with local area bands. We then will spend the day in the park as an end of year celebration.
We are looking for your financial assistance in the following ways:
The estimated cost for the charter bus rental is $2748.
Entrance Fees: Each student's admission to Six Flags St. Louis for the festival costs $64, and we have a total of 55 students participating for a total of $3520
Meals: We plan to provide meals for our students during the trip to ensure they have enough energy for their performances. The estimated cost for meals is $500
Incidentals: Miscellaneous expenses such as incidentals, emergency funds, and unforeseen circumstances are budgeted at $500.
