Hey Fam, DAY here!

It’s been some time since I’ve communicated with you all directly. There’s lots going on and I want to share it all with you… Some exciting news and some not so much, but I’m sure you're curious.

As you may know, In the beginning of 2020 with the backing of another entity, we released the project called timeless. With the lead-off single Automatic, we were able to get good reach. The single reached #28 on billboard and was poised to climb even higher. Unfortunately, some issues on the back end developed and the project was halted.

Shortly after the pandemic began, things tapered off…. but not without interest, this I am more than grateful for. However, the halt of the music that we worked so hard on took a strong hold. Despite an outpouring of interest in the songs (licensing, commercials, etc.), all the write ups and accolades, chart placements, video plays (#1 on Music Choice for several weeks in a row), and daytime show performances, the backing party decided to pull investment. This decision was not related to the momentum and buzz created. Such is life. Even though this decision was devastating and a bit depressing it does not determine our creative drive to continue to push forward.

It was then that I decided that this would never happen again. I wasn’t going to let that experience keep me from doing what I was put here to do, to be a blessing via my creativity and passion, to other people. So, I decided that the only way to go forward is to be in full control of the work. My Independent label Urban Herd, a talented group of business minds and creatives would be the owners of the work of Day Kornegay and any other artist that craves independent freedoms without the hurdles of money people. It is said that community is the antithesis of capitalism. I love what I do, and I love spreading the positive energy that artistry sheds. That said, I understand that to do this on the scale that we want to and will ascend to, it takes money. Money and YOU!

I want to continue doing this, and I’d love to move this mission forward with my village. My people who desire good fun music and content. So now I need you. I’ve since expanded the label Urban Herd Media. We’ve been working on Music for Day, A new Band Called FMS (think Bruno & Anderson’s SilK SonIc), A 12-15 Year old Girl Group (unnamed as of yet), An 11 year old king named MJ who is super talented and ridiculously adorable (think a young Chris Brown), and last but not least, an Urban Herd collaboration project featuring many talented and locally based indie artists.

I am asking you, my friends, family, supporters, fans to invest in us!! This investment will help us go to market, to radio, to get this work shared and unlike before with Day, we won’t ever stop.

We’re asking that you invest by picking a package below. Each package includes some sort of exclusivity in recognition of your support from the Urban Herd Family.

A. $25 - you get the first exclusive copy of the upcoming Urban Herd Presents Album (mixtape) feat. all the previously mentioned artist and an invite to the exclusive virtual listening party.
