Help the Growers Improve Your Morning Coffee

Camminndo Por La Paz has been selling excellent Honduran Coffee for more than five years. The purpose of our Coffee Project has been to provide funding for Caminando's educational projects. This requires that we assure our customers of the best possible coffee. To provide great coffee we commit ourselves to assist the producers in their efforts to improve the quality of this already great offering.

Several years ago we raised the money needed to erect solar driers. At the time this was a recent innovation in coffee production. Before the advent of solar driers, the normal way of drying coffee barries was to spread them out on the ground or a concrete surface to dry in the sun, when the rain came they had to use s 2 x 4 or such to scoop up the coffee and store it until it could again be laid out to dry.

At this point, the farmers need two improvements. (1) As technology has advanced it has become obvious that a concrete floor would greatly improve the quality of dried coffee beans. (2) Since the solar driers are a form of greenhouse they were constructed with plastic windows. These windows have been weakening and nearly destroyed by the local weather.

Caminando Por La Paz and followers of Father Toms Family Coffee are asking our friends to contribute to this fund drive to improve our coffee project efforts.
