Cameron Aamodt Medical Expenses

Donation protected
As some of you may or may not know Cameron Aamodt and Kendall Aamodt have had some very challenging times these past few months. In May, Cameron was diagnosed with adult onset Type 1 Diabetes that had gone undetected for the last few years and unfortunately caused some complications. At first the insulin helped tremendously, but after being set up with dietitians things went down hill. Cameron was at his lowest weight since high school and was put on a severely carb restricted diet, without ever mentioning how many calories he should be getting. After concerns were mentioned at every appointment, nothing was changed.  This spiraled into him losing 10 more pounds, putting him at an extremely unhealthy weight. The complications that followed included nearly losing the ability to walk, losing most of the use of his hands, insomnia, and much more. Fears of serious life threatening illnesses consumed them, but after a short stay at Oregon Health and Science University Hospital (the 3rd hospital visit in 4 months) and countless medical tests later, they finally got the wonderful news that the prescribed diet was the issue. OHSU doctors were able to prescribe a much more individualized diet plan and Cameron has regained 8 pounds in the last few weeks and is finally seeing improvements after months of deterioration. Some of the scary complications are slowly starting to turn around, but many will take months if not years to reverse. This will continue to be a long road to recovery, but they are so thankful for the light they've already seen and the hope for the future.

Though things are beginning to improve, the financial effects are accumulating quickly. Cameron was laid off at work in June and Kendall recently went part time to help at home. Cameron lost his health insurance in August and had to switch to Cobra, with a high monthly payment. They have become overcome with medical bills and the insurance company has reset the deductible after meeting out of pocket maximums due to an open-enrollment period. With a limited monthly income, they  have quickly become heavily in debt. I am reaching out to family and friends for help. These two young people who have just started their lives together have stayed faithful to The Lord and I feel that they deserve a break even if it is just a little bit of financial help and a whole lot of prayers. We have set up a bank account for any of you that would like to help. Please share this post so we can get the word out. Thanks for your help, love and prayers.
