My husband, Tibor, fell off a ladder while working at a construction job site. He was not able to move his left arm and we went to the emergency room. He was misdiagnosed by the physician and was sent home with pain killers. He was told he had a "bad bruise" and should feel better soon.
After two weeks of not getting better, having bad shivers and pain, he went to see his regular doctor. He then was seen by an orthopedist and was sent for an MRI. The MRI revealed that he had two rotator cuff tendons torn when he fell and he needed surgery. He could not use his arm and was told that after the surgery he will not be able to work for at least 3 months. He has his own tile business and has absolutely no employees or help, so before the surgery our family of 6 were all helping him the best we could to finish his ongoing projects, so we would not lose all the money.
The insurance company did not pay anything to him for the misdiagnosis and because of the delay he lost a big project.
I have been working on receiving some kind of help from the government, any, and also trying to delay paying some of our bills (mortgage, surgery payment, etc...).
He's the hardest working man I have ever known and has been devastated and extremely stressed out because we have no income.
We have not received any kind of financial help so far and we are also a low income family.
My last resort was to turn to gofundme.com and ask strangers to help us so we can pay his surgery bill and our mortgage.
So far we "paid" $7,550.00 out of pocket (credit card) for his surgery and treatments and our mortgage is due April 1st, which is almost $3,000.00.
We would very much appreciate any kind of help to pay towards these costs and hopefully he will be able to start working again by the beginning of May (if everything goes well and his shoulder heals as it is supposed to).
Thank you so much for reading our story!
