My name is Joe, and I am a single father of two great kids, Sophia (15) and Angelo (17). It is with a heavy heart that I am hoping for support during one of the most difficult times of our lives. Our family home, the place where we made countless memories, is at risk of being lost due to foreclosure. We are struggling to keep our home, the place where my children both started school and where I would love to see them graduate high school. My son Angelo graduates this school year, and my daughter Sophia graduates in 2028. The story begins about 10 years ago when my ex-wife (who really is not part of their lives and will not consider helping) and I started the divorce process. That is when I started having epileptic seizures and could not return to work as a union bricklayer. I then pulled my annuity out, and that lasted about 5 years. My parents were helping us, but I have recently lost both of them to cancer. Despite my efforts of trying to work out of my garage painting motorcycles, I have fallen behind on the mortgage, and my children and I face the very real possibility of losing our home to foreclosure. I am now collecting SSI and can afford the monthly mortgage payments. Our home is more than just a building - it's where we grew as a family, celebrated birthdays, and shared special moments. It's the place that holds our history and our dreams. Losing it would be devastating not only financially but emotionally as well. I have tried everything I can think of, and I don't know what to do. So my children and I are asking for help raising the funds needed to stop the foreclosure and sheriff sale. The amount needed to catch up with the mortgage and legal fees is $35,000.00.
