Lazaro's Healing Heart Fund

Lazaro has been blessed throughout his life and his biggest blessing is the birth of his son, little Laz. He has lived his life on his terms and has enjoyed it to the fullest. However, in 2005, he was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy, the same condition that caused his mother's death in 1988. At first we hoped that his condition would stabilize and he could continue to enjoy his life with his son. However, God had other plans and on August 8th, 2011, he suffered a massive heart attack that destroyed the left side of his heart. Since then, his health has deteriorated and his quality of life has diminished. He can no longer enjoy the simple joys of life. He lacks the health and energy to live a productive life. He is currently on the heart transplant list and we are anxiously awaiting the news that a match has been found.

Meanwhile, we know that he has a long battle ahead of him and we want to raise funds to cover some of the expenses that will be incurred during his recovery so that he can focus on a peaceful recovery. Lazaro will be in the hospital for an extended time after his heart transplant. His recovery will take approximately 3 months and he will require round the clock assistance which is not covered by his insurance. Please consider donating to help cover some of these expenses.
