Help fund my top surgery, please?
Donation protected
I have never felt as free as I did in this photograph - I'm the dunce on the left.
For the next 40 years I suffered (and still do) with horrible mental health issues encompassing all aspects of my life but my hatred of my body - specifically my breasts has been all consuming.
It was meeting my husband Elliott and experiencing his transition and positive effect the procedure had on him, that I began to deal with my own feelings around gender dysphoria. I will be having top surgery later this year so I can actively live my life in a body that feels right to me.
We’re privileged that a portion of it will be covered by Ontario Health, but not completely. Funds will be used to cover top surgery and a safe, comfortable recovery while I'm unable to work. Any additional funds raised will be used to support gender affirming care in our community.
Thank you to my closest friends and family for their support and suggestion to start a go fund me. Having the attention and focus on me makes me incredibly uncomfortable and it was tempting to turn this all into a humorous bit, but really boobs are NOT FUNNY if you have em but hate em.
I am part of an amazing community, and I'm thankful and grateful to live in a place where I can openly and honestly live my truth and know the law and government are here to protect my rights. This isn't the case for everyone, everywhere. Please consider sharing resources with your loved ones to help spread love and educate against hatred.
Much love
