Help Constance fight Cancer!

HER STORY
Constance is a sweet, energetic, animal-loving six-year-old from Coquitlam. She is at times shy, very kind and an absolute joy to be around. In 2020, at the same time we were all learning to deal with the fear of living in a pandemic, Constance’s parents noticed some symptoms that prompted them to seek medical attention for their daughter. After a few hit and miss attempts at diagnosis, medical professionals were finally able to get to the bottom of it in March of 2020 and, at two and half years old, Constance began her battle with neuroblastoma at BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver. This little warrior fought the fight and after some difficult years of multiple rounds of chemo, immunotherapy and radiation and stem cell transplants she miraculously won! The word of the year in 2022 was “cancer-free”! Constance was thriving. She started kindergarten and shared so many wonderful firsts with her family and friends after having been so careful during her treatments.

Fast forward to December 2023. After complaining about some hip pain, the family were given the devastating news that Constance had relapsed after almost two years, and the cancer was back. The family was given the gift of being able to celebrate Christmas together before the next big fight started for Constance on December 27th.

CURRENT TREATMENT
Constance is currently undergoing more treatment at BC Children’s Hospital. They started her on low dose chemo to help manage the disease and have now switched her to immunotherapy and chemo. She’s managing okay. It breaks my heart to try and describe how strong she is, how she has the will of a lion and always faces her challenges with such courage. And she is only six years old!

Constance will have a follow-up scan after two rounds of immunotherapy so they can see where she’s at and we’d be so grateful for your positive thoughts and prayers.

THE GOAL
The previous two-year battle came with many financial challenges. On top of supporting your young child who is being forced to fight this awful disease, again, which I can’t even imagine having to go through, no parent should have to worry about money on top of everything else. My name is Pam and I’m a longtime friend of Sarah’s and her family. The feeling of helplessness you feel watching people you care about go through something like this made me think about how a little financial support could take just a bit off their overflowing plate. It would let the family focus all of their energy on Constance’s treatment and care without worrying as much about making ends meet.

Would you be willing to make a contribution to this fundraiser? A gift of any amount would mean the world to me to be able to give to this deserving family. Feel free to share my fundraiser link on social media. Thank you for reading. Thank you for caring.
