Renai's Fight

Sometimes we reach a moment in our lives where we need to reach out to our village...

As many of you are aware, our dear Renai is continuing her fight to beat the beast - brain cancer.

In April this year, Renai received the awful news after brain surgery that the cancer is now graded at Stage 4.

After 6 months of chemotherapy following the surgery, Renai has hit another bump in the road. The tumour has started to grow again, resulting in inflammation in the brain and the realisation she needs to try alternative treatments.

An option is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. This treatment will deliver 100% oxygen in a pressurised chamber, that allows the body to absorb up to 20 times more oxygen than normal. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in some cases has inhibited tumour growth and improved overall health and energy levels. This treatment comes at a significant monetary cost of $300 per treatment, plus additional costs for tests and IV. Renai will endure approximately 30 treatments to hopefully see improvement.

Renais’ biggest rocks are her husband Matt and her gorgeous two year old son Riccardo. Matt who has been continuously researching treatment options for Renai will now need to take unpaid leave to support her though her therapy.

The funds raised will contribute to the cost of treatments, income loss with Matt taking unpaid leave, and hopefully enough towards a holiday with their little man Rick to get away, enjoy and make memories.
