Zayla’s Surgery

While I was at work on 03-02-2020, my roommmate txted me and told me to call her as soon as possible. Terrified, I called and she told me she didn't check if 1 of the 2 back gates was closed and Zayla had gotten out about 30minutes prior. I race home and searched for her at the park and the different streets leading to my house. By this time, it was already 7:45 pm and dark when I get a call from an 806 number. It was Lubbock Small Animal Hospital calling to tell me that Zayla had been hit by a car and someone had brought her in. When I got there, they told me that they had stabilized her but she would need to be taken to my vet in the morning for surgery. I spent 90% of my night in the animal hospital and took her to my vet at 7:00am. They told me I had 3 options.

A: Have them splint the leg and HOPE it is enough but even though they doubted it would work.

B: Have the leg amputated.

C: Have a plate put in on Thursday.

I told them to do the surgery and try to save her leg. My total bill is going to be just over $3000
