Critchlow Family Fund

$43,069 of $50,000 goal

My husband, Troy Critchlow suddenly fell very ill recently. He was the primary caretaker of our children but his illness has left me as the sole caretaker, unable to work. After several long days of being in the hospital, unable to walk or sit up without excruciating pain, tests came back that he likely has cancer. More tests need to be done, but it is certain his road to recovery will be long and difficult on the whole family. Fortunately his medical costs will be covered by insurance, but bills, food and other expenses are looming as both of us are unable to work due to this unexpected and terrifying finding, with no clear end in sight. We are going to need help.

All donations, positive vibes, prayers and love will be endlessly appreciated. We will soon add gifts for donations so keep your eyes on this space!!

Today Troy lost a hard fight but is at peace. He passed due to complications with a blood infection shortly after finding out he had a very aggressive bone degenerative cancer that had reached stage four. His death was sudden and not expected to be so soon, a huge hole is left behind in our hearts with the loss of him.
The family currently believes his untimely death may be due to negligence and will be investigated but for now we will celebrate the life of an amazing man that was loved by so many. Thank you all for your continued support of those who are surviving him. We will update soon.

After waiting over a week for Troy’s biopsy results, they have come back positive for cancer. As his wife, I am heartbroken, especially because Troy had symptoms of serious illness for several weeks, even going into the ER a couple times only to be given a prescription of ibuprofen and sent on his way. This happens too often to too many undeserving people.

He’s recently been sent back to the hospital to fight off an infection. After 2 days of antibiotics, he began to show small signs of improvement but he is still immobile from the pain, missing zooming through around on 2 wheels and playing with his kids. The main goal is to complete diagnosis and begin treatment ASAP, after the infection has cleared and he’s able to get around on his own again.

For those who have donated or supported to us in any way (including after the previous update; retyped for length) THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH. From the bottom of our hearts. Your generosity has literally saved our family and has lifted a huge burden out of our suddenly frantic lives. I was completely terrified of what I was facing, but the outpouring of love, support and encouragement from all family, close friends and people I’ve never met lifted our family up and made me truly believe we could all get through this.

As of currently, especially because of the biopsy results, we are still very much open to any donations and support.
We have a hell of a fight ahead of us, who knows how many rounds we’re in for (those who know Troy know he’s one tough, resilient MF) but we have to see it through. Not knowing when either of us will be returning to work is pretty distressing and (I miss my co-workers, Troy misses shooting photos) but for now I must focus all of my energy on my husband’s health and raising our children. I’ve been able to take H & J to a nice daycare center (No kids allowed at Dad’s hospital) thanks to you guys and they love it. It will be very helpful to have during Troy’s future treatments (Also major shoutout to the dear individuals who have watched our kids free of charge just to give me a break or to see Troy in the hospital without a fun size wrecking squad in tow. It ain’t easy!). I am a wife and a mother humbly asking for help from any one who is able. From anyone who isn’t able all I would ask are prayers up for healing and strength and visualizing our boy Troy in perfect health, flashing his contagious smile with that loud crazy person laugh

For anyone who wishes to donate via PayPal: tcritchlow@gmail.com

I’m doing my best to have a positive outlook despite the seriousness of it all & I truly hope the next report we have is all good news

Thanks for getting us through this guys
