Luke Fazekas

My 14 year old son Luke is the #1 ranked Taekwondo athlete in the nation in his age division.  His nickname is Luke the Warrior, but he didn’t earn that name on the mat.  He earned it at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital.  At 4 years old, Luke was diagnosed with a rare, aggressive cancer,  Burkitts Lymphoma .  All childhood cancers are tragic but Burkitts is especially terrifying.  The tumor doubles every 24 hours often leading to children only getting diagnosed by autopsy. Thanks to a gracious and merciful God and some amazing doctors,  he fought and beat this cancer, against the odds.  The battle came with a cost both physically on him and financially on us. This burden continues today as he still goes once a year to get checked and deal with the vast array of side effects from the chemo.  Despite all this,  he has trained for the last  8 years, year round, committed to achieving his goals.  Luke has not only thrived since his cancer but now has Olympic aspirations.   He has recently been given the opportunity to compete internationally .  A must if he is to pursue his Olympic dreams.  Luke's a fighter, he’s had to be since he was 4 years old.  We are asking to help him pursue his dream of fighting  in the 2024 Olympics .   Any amount will help.  Thank you so much.
