Help Murrawah go to Paris UN COP21!

My name is Murrawah Johnson. I am an Aboriginal woman of Wangan and Jagalingou Country - Clermont and surrounding areas in Central Queensland. For the past year my people have been fighting the Carmichael mine, proposed by Adani on Wangan and Jagalingou Country. The Carmichael project is also proposed to be the largest open-cut coal mine in Australian History. This mine stands to completely devastate all forms of life that exist on our country. This mine stands to damage our culture and our spiritual being if it is allowed to destroy our land, air and water - making it unrecognizable and unlivable.
I also understand the broader impacts that opening up of the Galilee Basin will have on all of my Aboriginal brothers and sisters, on all Indigenous peoples around the world, on frontline communities and on humanity. This coal needs to stay in the ground. My people are saying no. I am saying no, and we do not consent.
This year I decided to join SEED, Australia’s first Indigenous Youth Climate Network, to unite Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on the issues of climate change and make aware the fact that the issues of historically systemic injustices will be exacerbated by climate change. I am now one of three Queensland State Coordinators and have also recently been selected as part of the Seed and Australian Youth Climate Coalition delegation going to Paris for the upcoming UN climate talks.
What I need from you now, is your help to get me there. As you know it is very expensive to fly overseas for two weeks to another country and commit my full capacity to something so important. I need to raise $2000 minimum to ensure that I make it there to echo the voices of those that need it the most. Embarking on the journey to Paris will help me to grow and be inspired to continue building the movement for climate justice. Can you chip in?
