This is my son Jacob, a 2015 Luella High School Graduate. Jacob has faced many difficult life situations, from a very tender age . He has experienced personal hardships that most parents think could never happen to their children. It has been very challenging for him to overcome, and I am SO proud of him, beyond what words can express! Jacob started working when he was 15 and remained consistently employed until February of this year, when working 8-5:30, 5 days a week and being a full time student at the age of 17, proved to be more than he could handle. As a result, he made mistakes at work that cost him his job. He did manage to save enough money to buy his first car in January, unfortunately, the combination of inexperience, a Chevy Blazer with a high wheel set , an unfamiliar dirt road, and liability only insurance (all he could afford), resulted in a total loss of the vehicle just 10 days after he bought it. 10 days after that, he lost his job. I have never seen my son more devastated in his life than he was following those two events. I had serious doubts as to whether or not he would graduate on time. I am so happy, and proud to say that he will graduate with the rest of his class! He is a great kid, who has even helped me pay household bills when he was employed! He is currently a volunteer coach for the baseball team that his little brother plays on. It breaks my heart as a mother, that I can't provide a better start for him as he opens the next chapter of his life. I set aside $1000 from my income tax refund to help him attain a vehicle at his graduation. This is all I can afford, and so now I am reaching out to you to help me, help my son. The Lord knows I can't do this alone. Jacob needs a car to be able to begin working again. My schedule at work is totally unpredictable, making it impossible for me to provide consistently reliable transportation for him. This makes finding employment extremely hard. Anything you can give is so appreciated, from prayers, to money, or simply a lead on a safe vehicle for him. God bless you all!
