My dear friend and co-worker Michelle has a 3 1/2 year old son named Maksim. Maksim was diagnosed last March (2015) with Wilm’s tumor stage 1 (a tumor in his kidney). Maksim underwent chemotherapy and completed treatment in September 2015. Recently he was diagnosed with his other kidney not functioning and will eventually need a transplant. A transplant will not be done for another 2 years after his chemotherapy because the likelihood of his body rejecting is higher after chemo, so in the meantime he will have dialysis at home. Michelle will not return to work due to his condition and taking many medications as you can imagine.
Anyway, I am writing to you for your help. Your help in any way, prayer is POWERFUL and the more the merrier... Please help us make this transition easier for that family, family is EVERYTHING and Mighty Maks needs his mom and dad with him at all costs throughout this road.
This upcoming Friday the 11th, I recruited friends to go to Michelle’s home and clean and organize to have everything as perfect as possible for Maksim to start his treatment. He already has his port for dialysis and cleanliness is a huge part of this process.
“Mighty Maksim” is loving, very verbal (lol), funny and most of all an angel sent to earth to change all of us forever... the name to his campaign seems to describe him perfectly!!
I ask that you forward this page to friends and family because Maksim and his family need all the help they can get. He needs a bed for his room to facilitate his mom sleeping with him while he gets his dialysis treatment at night and we also need possible kidney donors available. I will continue to update you on this and I know in my heart this little boy has an amazing future ahead of him.
