This is our dog, Canelo.  Recently, he was hit by a car in the street outside our house. After taking him to get checked out, we discovered that he had a fractured and dislocated hip. We were told that if he doesn't get surgery to repair it, he could lose the use of one of his legs, or his pelvis could pierce his organs and he could die. A few days later, Oakland Animal Services said that if we didn't get him the surgery, it wouldn't be safe for him to stay here anymore, and they'd take him. Now, Canelo is at risk of losing his health and his family. We've been able to come up with about some of the (estimated) $4,500 we need for the surgery, and now we hope that you can help us come up with the rest. Any and all donations will help us get Canelo the help he needs.
