Upstate NY Dairy Farmer Fights for his life and livelihood.
Donation protected
George and his wife, Maggie, own and run North Hill Farm in Upstate NY, where they raise dairy cattle and show horses and reside with their 3 children and many pets.
What started out as 3 separate annoying trips to diagnose mystery pain at the ER has turned into a battle against a form of AML (acute myeloid leukemia) that doctors have told them is difficult to treat. Currently, George is an inpatient at Upstate Hospital. He has had 1 intense round of chemo and is awaiting a bone marrow transplant. The road ahead is long and won’t be easy.
The family is exceedingly grateful to all of their family, friends & farming community who have rallied their support to keep things moving on the farm, which is a monumental task. Unfortunately, they will most certainly require assistance for up to a year in order to save North Hill Farm.
As we all know, medical expenses can be crippling. Fighting cancer requires a support network and funds to fight.
This is a plea to arm this family with the best possible weapons in the arsenal. We need George to fight and have something to come back home to at the end of his long and arduous battle.
***All donations will go directly to George and Maggie. Funds will be used for medical bills and expenses related to seeking treatment (accommodation, travel, etc if needed) and expenses related to keeping North Hill Farm operational while George is in hospital and, God willing, recovery.

I was incredibly reluctant to agree to a GoFundMe. I know that we are all fighting our own battles and I feel deeply that our family and our animals are our responsibility to care for. But this has been a very difficult 30 days and some days I am barely hanging on. I am so grateful to the amazing support system that we have- we are fortunate to have surrounded ourselves with selfless, kind, and giving people who have stepped in without question of how long this road will be to keep things running and offer help. This happened so quickly, out of nowhere, and at the worst time of year…planting and cropping season (and foaling and breeding season)…certainly the most critical and expensive time of year for us. There are still a lot of unknowns in our future and, although thankfully George is responding well to the chemo, the recovery will be long. If you feel you can help, even in a small way, I am grateful.

I don’t even know where to begin as I am truly speechless at the outpouring of kindness and generosity both from those that know us well and those that hardly know us at all. Those that have donated to the GoFundMe, those who have shared the link and those who have reached out to lend a hand. You are all, each and every one of you, appreciated. I am humbled knowing our story has touched so many of you. Know you have all left your mark on my heart and my eyes are filled with tears of gratitude today instead of sorrow ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
