I have known Susan Boofer since she was in elementary school at Neuse Baptist Christian School. She has always held a special place in my heart as a kind, giving, sweet-spirited child and continues with those qualities as a young adult woman. She has always been a very positive person who, despite recent issues with her health, is still doing all she can to stay positive and upbeat as possible. We all know Susan is a TOUGH gal and we know she will fight HARD, but this is going to be her toughest battle yet. 

Susan has already undergone surgery and just started her cancer journey with numerous chemo treatments to fight her Stage 2B Hodgkin's Lymphoma. She is currently undergoing ABVD, which is a chemotherapy combination of four different drugs that will be injected through her chemo port every other Thursday. While she is winning the fight against cancer, the battle against medical bills are looming. I am asking you, on her behalf, to consider donating to help pay for the life-saving treatment she is receiving from UT Medical Center. If you have nothing to give, please consider keeping Susan in your prayers. 

 

It started this year when she returned from vacation and was admitted into the hospital with "stroke-like symptoms".  While the CT scans showed positive results for her brain, cancer was revealed in her chest, shoulder and neck. A few biopsies were done and the same day that the diagnosis was confirmed, the chemo treatment began. She was immediately hospitalized for treatment and continued testing. The chemo treatment plan for now is about six months long, but that can change depending on how her body reacts to the chemotherapy. The hope is with the Go Fund Me Page, money can be raised for the medical bills and medication.
