How much does it cost to send a student to UPRHS? At least US$500/year x 6 years (grade 7 to 12) = US$3,000 (PhP150,000)!
From discussions with the UPRHS Scholarship Committee, led by Prof. Lea Garcia, we have identified below some of the major costs:
- US$100/year for school & club fees (PhP5,000)
- US$200/year for meals (PhP10,000)
- US$200/year for transport fares (PhP10,000)
Your donation will collectively go to the UPRHS Scholarship Fund (managed by Class '97) and will be used to distribute scholarship grants valued at US$500/year (PhP25,000/year) for each student. The complete list of donors and scholars will be announced at the UPRHS Alumni Homecoming in December 2022. We will also post updates here.

About the University of the Philippines Rural High School
UPRHS, established in 1927, is a state university high school with a science-oriented curriculum, aligned with that of UP Los Baños. Every year, it accepts 125 incoming Grade 7 students from a two-part competitive selection process. As we go back to face-to-face learning and rise from the global pandemic, we want to give hope to current students encountering difficulties in this challenging time.
