Bring Our Mother Home

Hi Everyone,

We would like to thank everyone for their generosity and our deepest gratitude for thinking of us during this difficult time of our lives. As some of you may know, our mother Teresita (Tess) has been in the hospital for quite some time now.

On May 25, 2023 our dear mother suffered a left MCA stroke that supplies blood to many parts of the left brain that includes speech. She is currently recovering in the hospital but we will not know the extent of the damage until time has pass. Although she is making minor improvements, we know that she needs her family's love and care close to her during this long, extensive process. She is on a breathing tube ventilator and a feeding tube. The only forms of communication we have with her are through blinking her right eye and moving her left arm as much as she can. Her doctor cannot guarantee a full recovery, but we refuse to lose faith knowing that our mother is a warrior and a fighter.

It has been very heartbreaking to know that she recently retired at the age of 65 and not even a week later she had a stroke. Our mom had plans to move to California with us so she could be closer to her grandchildren. She absolutely adores them! Our plan is to fly her to California to be closer to her family so we can take care of her. We plan to have her settle into a long term care facility here in the Bay Area. She will have the care of not only the team at the facility but also us. With her current condition she is unable to fly traditionally which is why we wanted to reach out to Air Ambulance Critical Care Transport. This is difficult for us to do, mainly because we know everyone has their own expenses, but there comes a time where you just have to ask for help. We have been taking turns flying to New Orleans to care for our mom and support our dad as he tries to navigate by himself for the meantime while we return home to work.

We have inquired a quote from Air Ambulance Critical Care transport for our mom. The quote given to us is $43,775.00 and our goal is to raise at least $20,000 to help pay for expenses. Any and every donation will make a difference. We are extremely grateful for your thoughts, prayers, and generosity.

Warmest Regards,
The Tiatco's
